Darling, we have perfected the art
of dancing around what is important.
I take step forward, a little off balance,
as I begin to twirl, you take a step,
one and two, a hand in mine,
the other at my nape.
We dance, oh so gracefully,
tip-toeing around the glass vase.
Words rest at the tip of your tongue,
just beneath your resplendent smile,
mine takes more of a liking to hide
behind the twinkle of my eyes.
Darling, we perfected the art
of dancing around what is vital.
The salient points muddled
when the waltz turned into the tango
and the tango to freestyle.
A brilliant capture of how relationships are supposed to be, a delicate dance around all that is important. Beautifully written, Rose!

Or rather how they are not to be. How will they ever work if we don’t talk about what is important? 🙂 Thank you, Thomas! ❤

This was beautiful. It melted my heart so much. The strength of the rhythm of a tango or hard shoes on wood really came through each line. Lovely poetry. Romantic. ❤
