First and foremost, it’s important to know who your target audience is. Once you’ve identified that it’s important to understand the “needs & wants” of such audience. We’re not doing any surveys here, but the feedback you receive by the means of comments and likes should be a good indication of what they like. That’s not to say that you should not write to your heart’s content, but I find that it’s important to understand this so you can cater to the taste of your audience better. Personally, when I write a lengthy piece, I usually follow it up with a an excerpt or a smaller post to generate traffic. If they like your content, they are likely to explore, therefore in return paying attention to the content you want noticed… I hope this made sense. 😀
Yes it did and it’s filled with good points. I’m going to definitely think about them! So you’re shorter posts (the image posts) generate a lot of traffic to your longer ones?
Definitely! They are easy on the eyes – visually appealing and not too wordy. It’s not the case every time. Quality of your work also gets noticed too! However, if we are talking about the “marketing” only, the shorter posts definitely attract visitors.
hmm, I’m going to have think about how to approach that. I post quite a bit already. Maybe a picture with a quote from the piece? Or the first couple lines?
Hahah! I apologize.. I can’t for the life of me remember why I thought it was called Noteworthy! And yes… why don’t you try picking out some quotes that stand out and see how that works! 🙂
I love the presentation.
